#TechPolicyFutures24 brought together politicians, officials, civil society advocates, industry, innovators, and scholars in Parliament House to talk about designing the technology tomorrow we want to see.
We were thrilled to host our second annual Tech Futures event, in partnership with .auDA, Australia’s domain name administrator.
Attendees explored a range of possible futures, tried out food printing, had their tech tarot read, heard about TPDC research, and enjoyed our famous oyster shucker (because sometime the best things are low tech!).
Thanks to our incredible speakers for their thought-provoking speed speeches that traversed a wide variety of perspectives:
- Genevieve Bell, Vice Chancellor of ANU
- The Hon Paul Fletcher MP Manager of Opposition Business
- Helen Wilson, Department Industry Science and Resources
- Rosemary Sinclair, CEO of auDA
- Kate Chaney MP
- Senator David Shoebridge
- Professor Elanor Huntington of CSIRO
- Brett Solomon, CEO of AccessNow
- Allegra Spender MP
- Sunita Bose, Executive Director of DIGI, and
- Lizzie O’Shea, Chair Digital Rights Watch.
Special thanks also to Dr Liezhou Zhong and Chef Amanda Orchard from Edith Cowan University, and Chef David Learmonth Executive Chef at APH.
At TPDC, we are passionate about the power of #techpolicy, because the tech we build today will shape our future tomorrow!
